Donations to U.S. charities for Haiti earthquake recovery continue to outpace donations after the 2004 Asian tsunami but lag far behind the giving following Hurricane Katrina. A tally by the Chronicle of Philanthropy shows U.S. charities have received $1.3 billion in private funds for Haiti nearly six months after the Jan. 12 earthquake.
