Darryl Lester
is a senior consultant at TCC Group, a strategic consulting firm that works with foundations, nonprofits and corporate giving programs to help them increase their social impact. At TCC she primarily works with foundations on strategic planning engagements. Her clients have included large national foundations, community foundations and numerous family foundations. She is President of the board of the Hill-Snowdon Foundation, which supports social justice efforts throughout the U.S. She also serves on the board of the Ms. Foundation for Women and co-chairs the Council on Foundations’ Next Generation Advisory Task Force. Blanchard is a graduate of Stanford University and received her Masters in Public Policy from U.C. Berkeley.

Darryl Lester is the Founder and President of HindSight Consulting, Inc. and The Community Investment Network. HindSight Consulting, Inc was founded by Darryl and his wife Dionne in 2001 to assist individuals and organizations to give their time, talent, and treasure to improve the social conditions in the communities and neighborhoods where they live and work. Much of HindSight’s work is bridging community philanthropy (giving) and institutional philanthropy (giving) to affirm and provide more strategic focus to giving in communities. In 2004, HindSight Consulting, Inc launched the Community Investment Network (www.thecommunityinvestment.org) to provide strategic donor education for African Americans and other donors of color as well as to provide technical assistance for community philanthropists engaged in collective giving and volunteerism through giving circles. Presently there are nine giving circles that have been organized and connected to the Community Investment Network. The work and philanthropy of Darryl Lester has been highlighted in Black Enterprise and Town and Country Magazines. Prior to the founding of HindSight Consulting, Inc, Darryl, served as the Director of Programs at the Triangle Community Foundation; Fundraising Counsel at Capital Development Services; Program Director at North Carolina Public Allies; Assistant Dean of the Office of Student Counseling at UNC-Chapel Hill; Assistant Coordinator of African American Student Affairs at North Carolina State University; and Counselor at Shaw University.

 

Darryl’s civic and community involvement include, board member of the New Voices School for children with severe mental and physical challenges; board member of the Center for Community Philanthropy at The Clinton School; Founder and member of the Next Generation of African American Philanthropists; African American Symposium Presenter at North Carolina State University; and former Trustee for the Warner Foundation.
